If it was really magic, it would probably not be called a trick as well, right? In today’s article we are going to reveal the greatest and most popular magic tricks that went viral.
A phone inside a bottleThis is a famous street trick and you probably saw it on YouTube as well. The “magician” holds a plastic bottle, shows to everyone that it is a whole and ordinary bottle the way that he gives it to the people around to hold it and examine it. Than, he asks for a phone, so that it would be a regular phone from a passer-by. In just a second, he magically puts the phone in the bottle. How?
The “magician” wears a special finger stall with a very sharp and almost invisible blade on it, secretly cuts a line in the plastic container and very smoothly pushes the phone inside. However, you need to be really slight of hand to do this.
Twisting an I-phoneThis is even a simpler, but quite clever “magic” trick. The “magician” has a half back cover of the phone pre-prepared and quickly maneuvers to put it over the front side of the phone while amusing and distracting the audience from the real thing.
A can standing on a cardThis is a famous street trick, that hasn’t anything to do with magic as well. the card, if looked from another perspective, is T-shaped – it has an extra part from the back that can hold it straight while the can is on it. It’s a simple act of the “magician” doing the trick.
The rising cardThere are couple of ways to do this trick, but the easiest and most unnoticeable one is made using extra equipment. The “magician” has a pre-prepared deck of cards, in which there is a card with a small pad that sticks to the card and moves it upwards, defying it from the other cards in the deck. This creates the illusion that the card some regular guy from the audience picks, magically pops out of the deck.
Water into ice in just a secondThis is another clever trick, especially when you can’t imagine defying the laws of nature is actually possible. Normally, it is with the use of some clever invention. The trick here is in the actual cup. Inside, it has a piece of ice all along, and a sponge with the same color as the cup, fixed to the bottom. In the heat of the moment, the right amount of water that the “magician” knows he needs to pour inside is absorbed by the sponge, and the ice goes out when he flips the cup. Just another amazing act of the one who’s doing it.
Passing through the wallA very popular movie actually explained this trick, but if you haven’t already seen it, here’s the actual trick. There’s a special v-shaped tunnel that goes under the wall, between the place the “magician” last appeared and where he’s going to appear, on the other side of the wall. Again, the real trick is re-centering the center of attention of the audience.
The “death saw” of David CopperfieldTn order for this performance, there are actually two people used – the “magician” doing the trick and another person you never get to see, except his legs and back. The secret is the table beneath and a tiny gap between the tables, that the blade of the saw actually goes through, tricking the audience into thinking it actually goes through the table. So, the legs of the one who’s head is visible are into the table, and the assistant’s upper body is also hidden in the very cleverly made table below.
So, as you can see, magic nowadays is really about re-centering the center of attention from the “real deal”, to something really irrelevant for the moment, while the trick is done. But, we don’t say that real magic doesn’t really exist somewhere out in the world…
